dc.description.abstractThe article examines the use of virtual assets as a tool for portfolio diversification by institutional investors in the Ukrainian stock market. It analyzes the current state of legal regulation of digital assets, particularly the provisions of Draft Law No. 10225-d, which introduces legal certainty, tax transparency, AML/KYC compliance, and alignment of the national financial sector with international standards. The study reviews key categories of virtual assets – including cryptocurrencies, tokenized securities, stablecoins, DeFi instruments, and NFTs – considering their functional characteristics, advantages, and risks for institutional investment strategies. The findings indicate that integrating virtual assets into investment portfolios can enhance diversification potential, increase returns, and foster innovation in the financial market, provided that adequate regulatory and technological frameworks are in place. The article outlines strategic directions for the development of Ukraine’s virtual asset market, emphasizing the need for regulatory harmonization, market infrastructure enhancement, and strengthened risk-management mechanisms.
